Sugar Bay golf - do it in an exotic way
For golfers, the thrill of a lifetime awaits at Mahogany Run Golf Course, just a short drive from Wyndham Sugar Bay Resort. The 18-hole Fazio designed championship golf course is the only one on the island and is very challenging. The 6,022-yard, par-70 course offers 18 of the most beautiful holes in the Caribbean, culminating in the spectacular "Devil's Triangle," the world renowned Signature trio of the 13th, 14th and 15th holes on the Atlantic Ocean. Golfers who play all three without a penalty stroke are awarded a special "I Survived The Devil's Triangle" certificate from the Club's Pro Shop. Tee times taken up to 48 hours in advance. Nine hole tee times, when available, can be reserved only between 7:00am and 8:00am. Twilight rates begin at 1:30pm. Tee times may be made up to 48 hours in advance of the date of play. Per person, minimum purchase of 3 rounds on first day of play entitles golfer to a discount. Golf package includes greens fees, cart fees and club storage. Additional rounds beyond 3 round minimum may also be purchased at discounted rate. Dress Code (Strictly Enforced) Men: Shirts must have a traditional collar. Though shorts are allowed, players in jeans, cut-offs/frayed shorts, gym shorts, tee shirts, tank tops or swim wear will be required to be dressed appropriately before teeing off. Ladies: Ladies have three options: a collared shirt; a sleeveless shirt with a collar; or a collarless shirt with sleeves. Shorts and skirts must be at mid-thigh or longer. No jeans, cut-offs/frayed shorts, gym shorts, swim wear or swim wear cover-ups. Shoes: Golf shoes are highly recommended (mandatory on rainy days) but sneakers are permitted as well. Golf Carts are required because of the extreme elevation changes at Mahogany Run. Drivers must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid driver's license. Only two people per cart are allowed. Walking is never permitted. There are no exceptions. Each player must have own set of clubs. The 1,100 square-foot Pro Shop offers sportswear lines such as Tommy Hilfiger, Ashworth, Oxford, Gear, Monterey Club and Bette & Court. Other top-name brands include Titleist, Pinnacle, Top Flight and Precept. Golfers may choose from a large selection of logo hats, gloves and towels. There are complete sets of left-and right-handed Callaway and Cobra golf club rentals for men, and graphite-shaft Callaway clubs for women. Foot-Joy shoe rentals also are available. The Pro Shop is open seven days a week and accepts all major credit cards, cash and traveler's checks for golf and cart fees, club rentals and Pro Shop purchases. Note: All food and beverage items must be paid for in cash or traveler's checks.
